As director, Maria Elena leads advocacy, awareness, action efforts for the Sisters and on their behalf addressing the issues of immigration, environmental justice, homelessness, anti-racism, climate crisis, human trafficking to name a few. In her role, Lisa led and facilitated internal and external integration strategies and initiatives that align with the overall strategic vision of the organization, strengthen physician and community partnerships, help expand and integrate services across the region and coordinate regional governance functions.Īdditionally, Lisa had lead marketing and communication strategies and partners with government affairs on regional advocacy efforts and community health investment on community benefit activities. Lisa Weaver is a highly experienced healthcare administrator and most recently served as the Chief Integration and External Relations Officer for the Southern California region of Providence, one of the largest healthcare providers in Southern California, serving Los Angeles, Orange County, and the High Desert. More recently the LA Times OC acknowledged Shawna as a 2022 OC Visionary for her work with Hope Builders.Ĭ-Level S Integration and External Relations Officer, Providence – Southern California In 2012, she was named one of 40 Under 40 in Orange County by the OC Metro. In 2006, she was named a Marano Fellow by the Aspen Institute.

She spent a year as a Jesuit Volunteer living and working among the poor of Central Orange County providing emergency assistance services to families on the edge of homelessness. She received her degree in English from Santa Clara University.

She has worked in numerous capacities in the nonprofit sector in the areas of workforce development, re-entry, intervention programming, emergency assistance, housing instability and volunteer service. In her role as CEO, she has led the development of Hope Builders' social enterprise ventures. Since joining the staff in 1998, Shawna has held various roles and led the development of numerous strategic initiatives including successfully managing the transition of the organization’s founding director in 2008.
